Fire extinguished at abandoned Pahoa home

An abandoned home in Pahoa that previously had been damaged by fire caught fire again today.

The Hawaii County Fire Department dispatched 10 units staffed by 13 personnel, along with four volunteer firefighters, to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was reported at 9:05 a.m., brought under control by 9:22 a.m. and fully extinguished by 9:45 a.m.

An HCFD report noted that the fire was located at the rear of the structure.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. No injuries were reported and no other structures were threatened.
