Central Florida quarterback McKenzie Milton ran out of the pocket against Auburn during the Peach Bowl, Jan. 1, in Atlanta. As a sophomore last season, Milton led the Knights to a 13-0 record and Peach Bowl victory over Auburn, the only unbeaten record in the NCAA’s 130-member Football Bowl Subdivision.

The Heisman Trophy campaign for Mililani High graduate McKenzie Milton kicked off today with the launching of a website and video detailing the exploits of the University of Central Florida quarterback.

As a sophomore last season, Milton led the Knights to a 13-0 record and Peach Bowl victory over Auburn, the only unbeaten record in the NCAA’s 130-member Football Bowl Subdivision.

That earned Milton eighth place in voting for the Heisman Trophy that went to Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Milton is the only returning quarterbacks who finished in the Top 10 in the voting.

UCF launched a campaign on Milton’s behalf late last season but wanted to come out of the gates early this year in preparation for Milton’s junior season.

“We have a website and will have videos online and on our social media platforms initially and be sending out some promotional materials in the second wave as the season gets closer,” said Andy Seeley, UCF associate athletic director.

“McKenzie got a kick out of seeing it,” Seeley said.

The hashtag for Milton is #HIsman and the web address, www.MiltonForHIsman.KZ, includes references to Hawaii and Milton’s nickname with “KZ.”

UFC purchased a Kazakhstan domain to get the “KZ”.
