Maui Family Support Services receives $1M in federal funding to support Native Hawaiian families

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is awarding $1 million in federal funding to Maui Family Support Services to support a child care program for Native Hawaiian Families, U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, announced today.

The Quality Care for Hawaiian Keiki Project provides child care subsidies to Native Hawaiian families, according to a news release from Schatz.

“With this funding, Maui Family Support Services can continue to provide Native Hawaiians the access to child care that is so critical to working families,” said Schatz, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Maui Family Support Services, founded in 1980, offers child care, home visiting programs, parenting support groups, and life skills training, on Maui, Molokai, and Lanai.
