Kamehameha Highway reopens in Waiahole after critical pedestrian accident
Police have reopened Kamehameha Highway in Waiahole after a critical pedestrian accident.
The crash occurred around 4:20 a.m. today at the intersection near Waiahole Homestead Road, according to Emergency Medical Services. A 76-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and taken transported to a trauma center by paramedics.
Traffic in the area at 8:30 a.m. remained slow despite all lanes being reopened, according to the state Department of Transportation.
