A woman in her 50s was transported to the hospital in serious condition following a moped accident near Sea Life Park this morning, according to Emergency Medical Services.

At about 7:45 a.m., the woman was riding her moped on Kalanianaole Highway near the park in Waimanalo when she collided with a large pickup truck, EMS said. The woman, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered head and back injuries and was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

It was the second moped accident this morning, in addition to one previously reported on Oahu’s North Shore.

Both accidents are still under investigation.
