Puna shooting leaves 1 man dead

Big Island police are investigating a murder after a body was found on the side of a rural road in Puna Saturday.

At around 1:45 p.m., police received a report of multiple gunshots in the Fern Acres subdivision. As officers were responding, a passing motorist reported seeing a body on the side of Anthurium Street. Police found an adult male face down with apparent gunshot wounds to his body and spent bullet casings nearby.
