Water service restored at Magic Island after shutdown
Water service was temporarily suspended for a few hours this morning at Magic Island, also known as Aina Moana, for a shower improvement project.
Work began on upgrading the shower at the entrance of Magic Island. The water shutdown was scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon, impacting the showers and comfort stations at the 43-acre section of Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park, according to a news release from the City & County of Honolulu Department of Parks & Recreation. Water service resumed just before 10 a.m. today.
The water shutdown is part of a shower improvement project, which is scheduled to be completed by summer 2019.
