Honolulu fire crews contain brush fire near Central Oahu Regional Park
Firefighters managed to contain at 4:58 p.m. today a brush fire located outside Central Oahu Regional Park, stopping a baseball game.
The blaze, which blackened 12 acres, was 100 percent contained.
The fire was reported at 3:47 p.m. today, and the first unit arrived at 3:58 p.m., the Honolulu Fire Department’s spokesman, Capt. Scot Seguirant said.
The fire was “beyond the baseball field” but not in the field, Seguirant said.
HFD responded with nine units and 24 personnel.
No structures were damaged, nor any injuries incurred.

Fire investigators have not yet determined a cause.
A varsity baseball game was suspended in the top of the third inning due to a brush fire behind fields 3 and 4, according a Hawaii Baptist Academy tweet on Twitter, with a video showing large flames.
