All-State basketball player of year Kameron Ng to join University of Hawaii
Kameron Ng, the state’s high school player of the year, will be joining the University of Hawaii men’s basketball team.
Ng confirmed his commitment on Twitter Sunday night.
Ng, a senior guard for Saint Francis School, will be joining as a preferred walk-on.
Ng was named the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s All-State basketball Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season. The selection was based on voting by coaches and media.
Ng averaged more than 24 points per game despite often playing with an ankle ailment. Star-Advertiser reporter Paul Honda noted that Ng missed only three weeks of what was supposed to be a six-week recovery period for the ankle injury. Ng scored 40 points against Mid-Pacific; 27 and 24 points against ILH and state champion Maryknoll, and 29, 25 and 22 against ‘Iolani.
