Pair of water main breaks disrupt Oahu traffic
A pair of water main breaks on Oahu this morning have led to minor traffic disruptions.
A water main break reported around 9 a.m. on Kamani Street in Kakaako forced police to close the roadway to traffic between Auahi and Pohukaina streets.
An earlier water main break in Kapolei left about 55 residential customers without water service.
An 8-inch main ruptured near 91-1176 Kumuiki Street around 5 a.m. and closed the southbound lane of the roadway from Kealanani Avenue to Makahou Street, according to the Board of Water Supply.
A water wagon has been deployed at 91-1044 Makahou St. for affected residents.
Motorists are advised to avoid the affected areas and plan other routes where possible.
