Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards this morning found the body of a 19-year-old man who was reported missing after a wave swept him off rocks off Yokohama Bay Sunday.

A Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokeswoman said the body was found at 8 a.m. near the same area he went missing. She said identification of the man is pending.

The U.S. Coast Guard, lifeguards and firefighters had resumed their search earlier this morning for the man.

Honolulu Ocean Safety and firefighters initially responded to a man and a woman who were swept off the rocks at Moi Hole at about 5:15 p.m.

Lifeguards rescued a 21-year-old woman identified as Zena Gran and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived.

Paramedics administered advanced life support treatment and took her in critical condition to a hospital.

A GoFundMe page to help Gran was set up by organizer Brittney Beach.

“She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Queens Medical Center and is in Critical Condition – her family and friends wait patiently for updates from the doctors,” the page said. “We humbly ask for your love and Kokua during this difficult time, any amount is greatly appreciated.”

The Coast Guard deployed its MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, 45-foot response boat-medium and cutter William Hart to assist in the search.

Winds were at 20 mph and seas were up to two feet at the time of the search Sunday night.
