Police seek suspect in Makiki taxi-jacking

Honolulu police are looking for a suspect in connection with a taxi carjacking in Makiki early today.

The carjacking occurred just after 12:40 a.m.

Police said the adult male suspect caught a taxi to the Makiki area. When the taxi reached its destination, the perpetrator allegedly pointed a gun at the 51-year-old driver, demanded money and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle.

Police said the suspect fled in the taxi. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 130 pounds with a slim build. He has black hair and was wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans at the time of the robbery.
