Authorities identify diver whose body was recovered off Kaaawa
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified Sunday a 37-year-old man who died after he went diving off Kaaawa as Renty Sippa of Kalihi.
Police said Sippa apparently became overwhelmed by strong currents while diving about 8:30 p.m. Friday and failed to return to shore.
Firefighters located Sippa Saturday morning, but could not revive him, police said.
