Arson suspected in fire at Hans L’Orange park in Waipahu

Honolulu police have opened up an arson investigation following a Saturday structure fire in Waipahu.

The fire, which occurred around 7:52 p.m. at Hans L’Orange Neighborhood Park, reportedly caused $100,000 in damage. Police said it was intentionally set.

Hans L’Orange Neighborhood Park is the home field of the Hawai‘i Pacific University men’s baseball team, the Sharks.

A suspect has not been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
