2 hospitalized after rescue from Maunalua Bay
Two people in a boat off of Maunalua Bay on Oahu were taken to a hospital this evening after getting into “trouble” in the water.
The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services reported that around 7:30 p.m., a 15-year-old boy “got into trouble after going into the ocean.” His relative, a 65-year-old man, jumped into to rescue the teenager, but he also “got into trouble.”
Both swallowed water, EMS said. The 65-year-old was transported to a hospital in critical condition, and the 15-year-old was transported in serious condition.
No other information was provided.
