Firefighters extinguished a fire at a Mapunapuna military town home this afternoon that displaced a family of four.

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a 911 call about a structure fire at 1730 Tiare Court at 4:19 p.m.

HFD arrived a few minutes later to find smoke coming from the front of the structure but was able to bring the fire under control at 4:38 p.m. and extinguish it by 4:55 p.m.

The fire damaged one room on the first floor of the home, but firefighters kept it from spreading to the rest of the building.

The home was empty during the fire and there were no injuries reported, but it displaced a local military family of four. The displaced family is staying with other family members for the night.

The cause of the fire and damage estimates have not yet been determined.
