Koko Crater Botanical Garden closing temporarily for parking lot resurfacing

Koko Crater Botanical Garden is scheduled to be closed Monday through Wednesday for resurfacing of its parking lot.

The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation announced today that the project at the Kokonani Street garden is meant “to create a more sustainable and user-friendly parking area.”

Through the installation of a new subsurface base layer, the parking lot will have a more solid foundation, providing improved parking conditions for visitors and could potentially reduce the need for regular maintenance.

In June 2019, parking lot repairs fixed surface-level issues like potholes.

There will still be access to Koko Crater Stables, but will require coordination with DPR staff performing work in the area.
