Honolulu Fire Department officials said an early-morning fire caused about $60,000 in damage to the structure of an abandoned house in McCully.

An early-morning fire caused about $60,000 in structural damage to an abandoned house in McCully, Honolulu Fire Department officials said today.

Firefighters were called to a two-story home at 2715 Waiaka Road at 5:14 a.m., and found light smoke coming from the second floor.

Six units which included 22 fire personnel responded to the fire, which they extinguished by about 6 a.m.

There were no people in the house and no one was injured. Neighbors told fire officials that no one has lived on the property for the last 15 years.

HFD said the blaze was an electrical fire that started in the space between the first and second floors.
