The Seasiders (1-9, 0-2) trailed by as many as 11 early in the second half, but a basket by Rieben off a steal gave BYUH a 70-69 lead with 46 seconds remaining. The Urban Knights (4-8, 2-1) answered with four free throws by Nicole DeRosier to pull it out.

The Seasiders got a school-record 11 assists from Dara Tompkison.

Jake Dastrop add 17 points for the Seasiders (7-4, 2-0) against the Urban Knights (3-10, 0-4).

HPU loses conference opener

Royal Edwards scored 14 points, but Hawaii Pacific couldn’t match the outside shooting by Notre Dame de Namur in losing to the Argos 61-59 last night at Blaisdell Arena.

NDNU (3-11, 1-3) hit 11 3-pointers in holding off the Sea Warriors (5-8, 0-1). HPU was 2-for-7 from behind the arc.
