Abercrombie appoints more agency directors

Gov. Neil Abercrombie has appointed the director of two executive branch offices.

In a statement Thursday, Abercrombie’s office said Gregory Jackson was named as director of the Office of Veteran Services and Jesse Souki as director of the Office of Planning.

Jackson, a criminal defense lawyer, was a captain and a judge advocate in the Air Force. He also is an Iraqi war vet.

Souki currently is deputy corporation counsel for Honolulu, where he focuses on the city’s commuter rail project.

Abercrombie also named Russell Suzuki as first deputy attorney general, Keith Kamita as deputy director of law enforcement at the Department of Public Safety, and Martha Torney as deputy director of administration at the public safety agency.
