Ticket will go on sale for UH-Portland post-season hoops game

Despite a heartbreaking loss today in the opening round of the WAC Basketball Tournament, the Hawaii men’s basketball team’s season will continue.

UH will be the host site Tuesday for the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in the Stan Sheriff Center. UH will play Portland at 7 p.m. and possibly host another opponent on Friday, March 18 (if UH wins the first contest).

"We will be selling tickets at a lower rate than the regular season as a big mahalo to our fans who have supported the team all season long," Jim Donovan, UH athletics director, said. "It’s important that we have good crowds, so we can demonstrate to postseason tournaments that we can draw well for these events at home."

Season-ticket holders will receive an informational e-mail tomorrow (Thursday) and are urged to purchase their tickets online (HawaiiAthletics.com) for Tuesday and Friday (both games are required, but credit cards will only be charged for Friday’s contest if UH hosts a second-round game). There will be no online fees assessed to season-ticket holders, who commit to purchase both the Tuesday and Friday contests.

Season-ticket holders regular-season seats will be held until Friday evening and released for general public online sale Saturday at noon. Season-ticket holders can also purchase their seats at the Stan Sheriff Box Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday or Friday or prior to the men’s volleyball match Friday night.

Non-season ticket holders can purchase tickets online (HawaiiAthletics.com) beginning Saturday at noon. They can also buy tickets at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office prior to the men’s volleyball match on Saturday or during normal box office hours (9 a.m. until 5 p.m.) beginning Monday.

Fans can also call 944-BOWS (2697) but there are limited phone lines. Therefore, fans are encouraged to purchase online (HawaiiAthletics.com) and can do so 24 hours a day.
