MANILA, Philippines >> The Philippine Football Federation says FIFA has offered up to $1 million in funding to repair football projects damaged by Typhoon Haiyan.

The federation says FIFA pledged the money this week after approving grants in meetings held on the sidelines of the World Cup draw in Brazil.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter said after the typhoon struck last month that “we are at your disposal if special assistance is needed for the football family.”

Philippine football officials will send FIFA details in the coming weeks of projects that need financial support.
