Dancefloor misstep leads to alleged assault, arrest

An errant bump on the night club dancefloor escalated into a confrontation that led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man in Waikiki early Sunday morning.

According to police, a woman accidentally bumped into the suspect while dancing and the suspect responded by shoving her to the ground. The woman's husband confronted the suspect, who then struck the husband with a glass cup, poice said.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.

The incident happened at 12:50 a.m.
