A 40-year-old Honolulu woman was arrested today after she allegedly assaulted a 10-year-old boy because she was upset that he broke the home computer, police said.
The woman struck the boy about 1:20 p.m. several times on the back and arms with the hose of a vacuum cleaner, police said.
Then she allegedly threw a vase that hit the boy on the arm.
After the woman called another family member to watch the boy, she left. The family member called police after seeing injuries on the boy’s arms and back.
The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the woman on suspicion of second-degree assault when she returned to her Nuuanu Avenue home about 2 p.m.
