Police looking for witness to fight near Hilo Long’s store
Big Island police are investigating an apparent fight out side of Long’s Drugs on Puainako Street at 5:30 Wednesday evening that left three people injured.
Responding officers came across a 31-year-old Hilo man with a head injury and two other people with injuries — a 23-year-old Pahoa man and 28-year-old Pahoa woman.
Police arrested all three after they were treated at Hilo Hospital and are asking for anyone who witnesses the fracas to come forward.
Police arrested the Hilo man for criminal property damage and assault. The Pahoa man is also facing criminal property damage and assault charges, plus a possible charge of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. The Pahoa woman was arrested for assault.
Anyone with information can call Detective Reed Mahuna at 961-2384 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
