Chaminade loses to Seattle Pacific

Steven Bennett scored 20 points, including all three of Chaminade’s 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough to carry Chaminade past Seattle Pacific in last night’s first round of the SPU Invitational men’s basketball tournament in Seattle.

The host Falcons (3-2) hit 11 3-pointers, seven by Jeff Dorman, in the 79-65 victory.

Rickey Clayborn added 14 points and Mamadou Diarra 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Silverswords (5-3).

 

Alaska-Anchorage drops HPU

Taylor Rohde scored 22 points to lead Alaska-Anchorage to a 75-53 win over Hawaii Pacific’s men’s basketball team in the first round of the Glacier Classic in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Kameron Steinhoff and Adrian den Dulk each scored 10 points for the Sea Warriors (3-2) against the Seawolves (4-3).

 

BYU downs BYU-Hawaii

Haley Hall scored 18 points to lead six Cougars in double-figure scoring as Brigham Young rolled past Brigham Young-Hawaii 101-51 yesterday in the Hukilau Invitational women’s basketball tournament at the Cannon Activities Center.

Richelle Rieben scored 12 points and Danna Lynn Hooper added 10 for the Seasiders (1-5) against the Cougars (7-2).
