Hawaii splits 2 in water polo
No. 5 Hawaii split two water polo matches yesterday at the Stanford Invitational.
The Rainbow Wahine lost 7-6 to UCLA before beating No. 13 Indiana 8-3. Priscilla Orozco scored four goals to lead UCLA in its win.
Monika Eggens and Dagmar Greene led UH with five goals apiece in the two games combined.
Hawaii Pacific splits with Rollins
Hawaii Pacific opened up a softball doubleheader against Rollins College (Fla.) with a 1-0 victory yesterday at Howard A. Okita Field in Kaneohe.
Kozy Toriano hit a solo homer in the third inning and Breanne Patton pitched a four-hit shutout to lead the way.

Gustavus Adolphus beats BYUH twice
Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) defeated Brigham Young-Hawaii in both games of a softball doubleheader yesterday.
The Gusties won 1-0 and 8-0 at Laie.
Hawaii-Hilo upends BYUH
Hillary Hurley scored 17 points to lead Hawaii-Hilo to a 72-65 women’s basketball win over BYUH last night in Laie.
Kirsty Imai added 16 for the Vulcans (9-9, 5-5 Pacific West).
Dara Tompkison had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists for the Seasiders (2-15, 1-7).
UH baseball tickets go on sale
University of Hawaii baseball individual tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Individual tickets range from $3 to $6. Fans can purchase tickets at the Sheriff Center box office or by calling 944-2697.
The Rainbows open the season with a four-game series against Oregon, Feb. 18-21, at Les Murakami Stadium.
Miano at QB club meeting
Hawaii football associate coach Rich Miano is one of the speakers scheduled for tomorrow’s meeting of the Honolulu Quarterback Club.
Jan Prins, an associate professor of kinesiology and a former swimming coach at UH, will also speak.
The meeting at Maple Garden restaurant starts with an 11:30 a.m. luncheon. The cost is $15, and the public is invited.
Rainbow Wahine beat Fullerton
Hawaii defeated Cal State Fullerton in women’s tennis yesterday in Fullerton, Calif., to improve to 3-2.
Barbara Pinterova, Katarina Poljakova, Alyssa Nafarrete and Mari Tadaki won in both singles and doubles for UH.
