Daniel Ho creating quite a legacy

Daniel Ho apparently has hit on the magic formula for winning Grammy Awards: His company, Daniel Ho Creations, has been the label on all but one of the winning albums since the Hawaiian music category was created in 2005.

The latest album, "Huana Ke Aloha," features longtime friend Tia Carrere singing original Hawaiian-language lyrics for lullabies. However, all but one of the 11 tunes are based on classics.

During on-camera interviews, at least, Carrere’s competition kept things cheerful, but it’s got to be sticking in someone’s craw that Brahms, Beethoven and the like are now considered composers of Hawaiian music.

Honeymooners heart Hawaii

Hawaii is the world’s top honeymoon destination, according to the results of a survey of 6,000 travel agents in North America.

Hawaii replaces Italy, a historic front-runner, according to the survey by Signature Travel Network and Brides Magazine.

Islands appear to be paramount for taking the vow, as Hawaii was trailed by French Polynesia and Fiji, and fourth-place Italy was followed by Bali, Bermuda and Costa Rica.

So from romantics worldwide, Hawaii: "I love you" — or more aptly, "aloha au ia ‘oe."
