Tennis Triple Crown trials on
A tennis doubleheader has been transformed into a Triple Crown with the Waikiki Tennis Club Clay Court Championship joining The Oahu Club and Blue Moon Men’s Night Doubles tournaments over the next two months.
The Triple Crown offers $10,000 in total prize money and a place in the doubles main draw of the 2012 Honolulu Challenger.
The series starts June 22-26 with the $1,000 Clay Court Championships, presented by Wealth Strategy Partners. Oahu Club Night Doubles also has a $1,000 purse and will be July 10-16. The series culminates with Hawaii’s premier tennis event, Men’s Night Doubles at Kailua Racquet Club, July 24-Aug. 6. That offers a $7,200 purse.
Any USTA member can enter the tournaments and play with different partners. Players earn points for each round won and the winning team gets $500 in bonus prize money along with a wild card into the Challenger.
