Coast Guard continues search for missing fisherman
The Coast Guard continued to search tonight along the southern shore of Oahu for a missing fisherman.
The Coast Guard cutter Ahi continued looking for Kon Wai Young, 53, who was last seen near Hawaii Kai Saturday morning aboard a 19-foot white and green boat.
Coast Guard C-130 Hercules crews focused their search about 70 miles southwest of Oahu on Tuesday. The Ahi crews searched 20 to 30 miles along the Waianae Coast while an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew searched the Waianae shoreline.
The Honolulu Fire Department Air One rescue helicopter also took part in the search, and rescue crews focused their search along the shoreline from Portlock to Diamond Head. HFD suspended its part of the search at 5 p.m. today, said fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
