Three people rescued after Hobie Cat overturns off Maui
Maui County ocean safety officers rescued three people whose Hobie Cat had overturned and was drifting about a third of a mile offshore near Sugar Cove in central Maui.
Fire spokesman Lee Mainaga said two ocean safety officers on jet skis responded and brought two people to a beach.
Rescuers were able to bring the Hobie Cat captain and his boat to a beach off Stable Road at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, an hour after receiving the call.
No one required medical attention.
