Two lanes of South Street are closed Wednesday morning because of a broken valve on an 8-inch water main.

Two lanes on the Diamond Head side of South Street, across from the Honolulu Fire Department headquarters were to remain closed between Queen and Halekauwila streets Wednesday night while crews repair the roadway after a valve for an 8-inch main broke early in the morning.

Board of Water Supply crews completed repairs to the broken valve. Water service was restored to all of the affected customers about 8:20 p.m.

The break was reported at 2:30 a.m. About 11 customers were without water.
