H-1 lane closures scheduled for utility installations

The state Department of Transportation wants to advise motorists of nighttime lane closures scheduled on the H-1 freeway this week for pole and drainage installations.

Two right lanes will be closed nightly on the H-1 in the westbound direction between Lunalilo Street Off-Ramp and Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp on Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility installations.

The School St. on-ramp and off-ramp will be closed in the westbound direction nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly beginning Monday and going through Friday. Drivers are advised to take the Vineyard Blvd. off-ramp to Nuuanu Avenue to access the School St. area, transportation officials said.

A tentative left lane closure on Vineyard Boulevard in the eastbound direction between Punchbowl Street and Lusitania Street has been scheduled for Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for median and irrigation system installations.

Work will begin in the westbound direction then crews will begin repairs in the eastbound direction. 

The closures are expected to last two weeks, depending on the weather.
