Firefighters put out Central Maui Baseyard fire

Maui firefighters responded to a fire at the Central Maui Baseyard at 7:19 p.m. Thursday.

They discovered a fire at Amazing Tow and Collision Specialist, at 2000 Mokulele Highway, Maui Fire Department official said in an email.

The fire was found at the back of the building and involved the filtering system for a paint booth.

Firefighters quickly brought it under control and extinguished it by 8:09 p.m.

Damage was contained to the filtering system and the 25 percent of the back exterior wall, the Fire Department said.

No one was injured. No damage estimate was available Thursday night.
