2 motorcyclists struck by cars in separate incidents on Oahu
Two male motorcyclists were hospitalized, one in critical condition, in separate accidents Tuesday following collisions with cars.
At about 8:30 a.m. in the Punchbowl area, a motorcycle headed south on Emerson Street struck a car going west on Green Street, police said. The motorcycle operator, a 55-year-old man who was wearing a helmet, was taken in critical condition to a hospital. The 34-year-old female driver of the car was not injured.
Police said speed on the part of the motorcyclist may have been a factor in the crash.
Just after 7 a.m. in front of Wai-anae High School, a 56-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious condition with leg injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car.
