Armed robber leaves Kula Long’s with Oxycodone stash

Maui police released this security camera image of a man suspected in the robbery of the Longs Drug Store in Kula on Monday.

Maui police are looking for an armed robbery suspect who demanded Oxycodone from Long’s Drug Store pharmacists in Kula.

After entering a drug store at about 8:27 p.m. Monday, the man jumped over a counter into the pharmaceutical dispensing area, police said.

Brandishing a black handgun and pointing it toward a pharmacist and others, the man demanded “oxys,” police said, Oxycodone is a narcotic analgesic used for relief of moderate to severe pain. 

A pharmacist did not resist, and the man grabbed an undisclosed amount of Oxycodone.

The robber fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Police have been unable to find the suspect after canvassing the area.

The man is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a dark hooded long-sleeved sweater with an unknown logo on the top left chest area, a brown baseball cap, camouflage shorts, camouflage bandana around his face, a pair of sunglasses and a pair of dark colored athletic shoes.
