Hawaii infielder Marcus Doi (28) slides home on a single hit by Hawaii catcher Chayce Ka'aua (7) in the fourth inning of a college baseball game between the Oregon Ducks and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Honolulu.

Nick Catalano hit a two-run homer with one out in the top of the eighth inning to give No. 16 Oregon a 3-2 win over Hawaii on Saturday afternoon at Les Murakami Stadium.

Steven Packard, who doubled in a run in the fourth, drew a walk off UH reliever Andrew Jones before Catalano deposited a 1-2 pitch from Jones over the fence in left-center for Oregon’s third home run of the series.

Stephen Nogosek (1-0) worked two shutout innings of relief to earn the win for the Ducks (2-0), who stretched their winning streak against Hawaii (0-2) to 13.

UH wasted a solid outing from sophomore lefty Quintin Torres-Costa, who allowed one run in six innings on five hits and struck out a career-high eight.

Jordan Richartz and Chayce Ka’aua hit RBI singles for the Rainbow Warriors off Oregon starter David Peterson, who struck out eight in six innings.

Hawaii loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth when UO closer Garrett Cleavinger struck out Ka’aua looking on a 3-2 inside fastball and got Jonathan Weeks to ground out to short.

The series continues Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
