A 25-year-old homeless man is in police custody after he allegedly assaulted a police officer in Aiea Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the officer suffered minor injuries while attempting to serve the suspect with outstanding contempt warrants.

Officers arrested the suspect on a misdemeanor resisting arresting charge.
