The Hawaii Fire Department will extend its search for a fourth day on Wednesday for a missing fisherman, who was swept off a cliff by high surf in the area of Kaloli Point.

The Fire Department said the man was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, floating 50 yards offshore after being swept off the cliff.

The Fire Department’s Rescue Company 2 resumed its search Tuesday, using ground teams along the shoreline. The department’s helicopter performed an aerial search eight miles north and south and a mile offshore of the man’s last known position.

Rescue Boat 2 conducted a shoreline search, and scuba divers used an expanded search pattern to look for the missing fisherman with negative findings, the Fire Department said.
