2 lanes of Ala Wai Blvd closed due to water main break

Two lanes of Ala Wai Boulevard in Waikiki are closed this morning as a crew of the Board of Water Supply repairs a broken water main break and valve.

The ruptured main was reported at 9:30 p.m. at 2517 Ala Wai Boulevard Wednesday, prompting the closure of the left, westbound lane. An additional lane was closed at 8 a.m.

Five customers do not have water service because of the main break. The Board of Water supply provided the following water sources for affected customers:

» Water wagon at 2509 Ala Wai Boulevard

» Spigot placed on hydrant at 314 Ohua Avenue

» Spigot placed on hydrant at 250 Ohua Avenue

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on Ala Wai Boulevard and to use alternate routes.
