LAS VEGAS >> T-Mobile Arena is now the official name of MGM’s new Las Vegas venue on The Strip.

MGM said in a statement Thursday that the cell phone carrier acquired the naming rights to the 20,000-seat arena set to open in April.

The terms of the multi-year deal weren’t disclosed.

T-Mobile said it won’t comment on money. MGM couldn’t immediately be reached.

The privately-funded arena is under construction behind the New York-New York site and will host concerts, sports, shows and special events.

It has already booked dates for George Strait, Garth Brooks and Janet Jackson concerts and the 2016 Professional Bull Riders World Finals.

The arena also has been discussed as the home for a hockey team in an expansion proposal that is under consideration by the National Hockey League.
