Hawaii players celebrate their hard fought sweep following the third set of the match against UC San Diego at the Stan Sheriff Center today.

Siki Zarkovic put down 21 kills and No. 5 Hawaii won its 16th straight at home dating back to last season with a 30-28, 25-19, 25-22 sweep of UC San Diego in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match this evening at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors (8-1, 3-1 MPSF) outblocked the Tritons 12-6, with Iain McKellar in on seven.

Ian Colbert had a team-high 19 kills for UCSD (3-7, 0-6), which has lost 23 consecutive conference matches dating back to 2013.

Libero Kolby Kanetake had 15 of Hawaii’s 40 digs, inching him closer to tying Carlos Briceno for No. 8. Briceno has 649, Kanetake is at 632.

Hawaii concludes its six-match homestand this week with No. 1 UCLA. The matches with the Bruins (10-0 6-0) are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
