No. 1 UCLA ends UH’s home volleyball streak
Siki Zarkovic put down a match-high 20 kills, but it was not enough as No. 5 Hawaii fell to No. 1 UCLA 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 15-9 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center.
A season-high crowd of 4,533 saw Bruins freshman Micah Ma’a, a Punahou product, put down a career-high 18 kills as the Bruins (11-1, 7-1) snapped the Rainbow Warriors’ home winning streak at 17. Sophomore hitter Jake Arnitz added 13 kills for UCLA, which defeated Hawaii for the first time in six meetings.
Warriors freshman opposite Stijn van Tilburg had 16 kills and senior libero Kolby Kanetake had 10 digs.
The Bruins outblocked the Warriors 19.5-4, with junior middle Mitch Stahl in on 11.
