Hawaii’s Kupono Fey hits off the block of San Diegoճ Shayne Beamer and Milosh Stojcic in the first set of the UC San Diego vs University of Hawaii men’s volleyball match at Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawaii heads into a new week with an old ranking, the same one the Rainbow Warriors had in the preseason poll: No. 7.

Hawaii, which has lost four of its past five matches, dropped two spots in today’s AVCA Division I-II Men’s Volleyball Top 15. The Warriors (10-5, 5-5 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) host unanimous No. 1 Long Beach State on Wednesday and Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The 49ers (13-2, 10-2 MPSF) received all 20 first-place votes. BYU (12-2, 8-2 MPSF) remained at No. 2 while Stanford (12-2, 10-2 MPSF) and UCLA (13-3, 9-3 MPSF) traded places at 3 and 4 after the Cardinal defeated the Bruins in four on Sunday.

Ohio State (12-3, 7-1 MIVA) and Penn State (10-2, 5-0 EIVA) both moved up one spot. Rounding out the top 10 are UC Santa Barbara (11-6, 7-5), Ball State (11-3, 5-0 MIVA) and Pepperdine (6-5, 5-5 MPSF).
