Police arrest teen in Waipahu school restroom fire
A 15-year-old girl is believed to have started a fire in the restroom of Waipahu Intermediate School Friday, which caused $5,000 worth of damage.
The fire was reported at 1:40 p.m. and five companies responded and extinguished the blaze around five minutes later.
The restroom fire is believed to have been intentionally set with a cigarette lighter.
The girl was arrested on suspicion of second-degree arson and released pending further investigation.

Actually, we asked Family Court to assign restitution in vandalism cases. (including graffiti) This was usually granted and in one case, Army CID helped us collect about $20K from the family of a teenager who had moved to North Carolina.
