UH hoops gets commitment from California guard
The Hawaii basketball team got its first known commitment of the spring signing period in Redondo Union (Calif.) High shooting guard Leland Green today.
Green, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, is UH’s third overall commit for 2016-17. He can sign a binding letter of intent as soon as April 13.
Another Southern California guard, Drew Buggs of Long Beach Poly High, signed in the fall along with Australian point guard Matt Owies.
In 27 games of recorded statistics on MaxPreps.com, Green averaged 14.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
Redondo Union (28-7) lost to Crespi, 66-63, in overtime in the CIF Division I state regional finals on March 19.

saw a video of him, it seems he likes to drive into the lane.
Wonder what his TO margin is, seeing how he likes to drive to the basket?, which is a good thing.
Okay, good. So where are the bigs?
Probably still at a JuCo waiting for a call.
The bigs are already on the team: Jankovic, Jovanovic and Thomas who will be returning seniors, and Auburn transfer Jack Purchase who will be eligible play in place of Tummala next season. Of course any or all of the returning seniors may choose to transfer due to the NCAA sanctions, but until they make decisions Ganot can’t offer their scholarships to anyone else.
Keeping my fingers crossed that all these players decide to return for one more season regardless of the NCAA restrictions. Must be Ganot has some positive vibes about which way his bigs are headed since his recent guard recruiting trove looks pretty good.
And I agree with Mangoose on the wait and see deal with the bigs.
