The section of highway between Waimea Beach Park and Laniakea Beach Park was closed around 9:20 a.m. and repopened around 10:27 a.m.

Kamehameha Highway had been closed earlier this morning for about an hour and a half starting at 7:30 a.m. after a head-on collision near Sts. Peter & Paul Mission near Waimea Bay Beach Park. Two people were taken to the hospital, but the conditions of the male and female drivers were not immediately available.
