Man drowns in waters off Lawai Beach Resort
A man died while swimming on Saturday in waters off Lawai Beach Resort, Kauai Police Department said.
Police said 57-year-old David Stewart, of Washington, D.C., was swimming around 4:05 p.m. when he apparently got into trouble. Firefighters arrived on scene to find bystanders performing CPR.
Stewart was transported to Wilcox Hospital, where he later died.
This is Kauai’s second drowning of the year.
