Police looking for suspects who took buckets of cash, coins

Hawaii island police are looking for the suspect or suspects who took three five-gallon buckets of cash and coins from a county building on Lanikaula Street over the weekend.

Police said someone broke into the building sometime Friday night or Saturday and took the buckets, along with paper bus pass tickets.

Anyone with information about the theft or the people who may have the buckets of cash and coins is asked to call Officer Jacob Obermiller at (808) 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311. Tipsters can also call the Hawaii island Crime Stoppers number at (808) 961-3311.
