Tree trimming work closes lanes of Kuhio Avenue

The Ewa-bound lane of Kuhio Avenue closest to the sidewalk and a portion of the mauka-bound lane of Kalaimoku Street will be closed today while a city tree trimming crew remove several large limbs from a banyan tree.

The tree is located at the corner of Kuhio Avenue and Kalaimoku Street.

The work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. The work is necessary to clear sightlines for nearby traffic signals.

Intermittent closures of other lanes on both streets will take place when necessary. If possible, the driving public is asked to use alternate travel routes during this work period.

That is a very long time to complete an easy job. Par for the course I suppose.
